Click Through Rate

Click-Through Rate (CTR) is a ratio showing how often people who see an ad or email end up clicking on it. CTR is used to gauge the effectiveness of online advertising campaigns or email marketing efforts.

If Acme Inc. runs an online ad campaign that receives 1,000 impressions and 50 clicks, the CTR would be 5%. This is calculated as (501000)×100(100050)×100. Acme would use CTR to evaluate the effectiveness of its ad in terms of engaging viewers and encouraging them to take action. Acme could then use this data to optimize its future advertising strategies, such as by altering its ad design, targeting, or placement to improve CTR.

CTR is calculated as the number of clicks an ad or link receives divided by the number of times the ad or link is shown, expressed as a percentage.
